"Are the Hellecasters still active?"
Although Jerry, Will and I are still friends we have no plans to do any musical projects together. We are all quite proud of the music we made in the Hellecasters, but are quite busy with current projects.
"Why did you leave Elton John's band?"
I left Elton's band in late 2000 to concentrate more fully on my solo
career, which I had back-burnered since 1994 when Elton asked me to
join his band. Some of you know that I have already been back to play
with Elton, filling in for Davey Johnstone at the end of the last Elton
John / Billy Joel tour. There are no hard feelings either way, and it
is entirely possible that I will again play with Elton in the
future--depending of course on schedules.
"There's no mention on the gigs page that you'll be coming to my area, but I heard some time ago that you were making plans to come here
soon. When will you be playing here?"
The Calendar tells which upcoming dates have been confirmed, so it may
not be posted because the date hasn't been confirmed with the venue
yet. It is the nature of the music business for things to change,
so sometimes shows fall through or are postponed. I will update
the Calendar as soon as I confirm more dates, both in the U.S. and
abroad, so your best bet is just to keep checking back here.
"I live far away from any of the places you're playing. Can
you come to my area so I can see you?"
It isn't always up to me, but I am happy to come anywhere to play if
the timing is right with my schedule. The best thing to do is to
talk to your local concert promoters and venue owners and tell them
you'd like to see me come play at their venues. Have them check
out my CDs and my website, and have them get in touch with me directly
about getting me to come to your area. Sometimes it can take time
to make things like that work out, so try to be patient and don't give
up!
